Community Care in Action: Quilts for Mothers and Babies
Martha’s Foundation is honored to receive a meaningful donation of handmade quilts through a community connection facilitated by Professor Ronda Martin, Secretary of the Martha’s Foundation Board.
Through her relationship, The Quilting Studio & Fabric Mercantile (5151 S. Mingo) has contributed handcrafted quilts as part of an ongoing drive that continues through the end of June.
Each quilt represents more than warmth—it reflects a network of care. The shop’s owner, a former student of Professor Martin and a nurse by training, has transformed her calling into community-centered craftsmanship, now serving families in a new and impactful way.
Impact That Can Be Felt
These quilts will directly support the young mothers and children served by Martha’s Foundation by:
- Providing warmth and comfort for newborns
- Offering reassurance to mothers during early transitions
- Reinforcing dignity, stability, and care
This is what community support looks like when it is intentional and aligned.
