Martha's Foundation began as a simple act of care. In the early 2000s, founder Myrtle Watson opened her home to young women who had nowhere to turn during pregnancy. What started around her kitchen table grew into a structured network of support—offering housing, mentorship, and life-skills training for teen mothers across Oklahoma. By empowering communities, the foundation ensures that every young mother receives the support she needs. Rooted in faith and community, Martha's Foundation carries forward the belief that every young mother deserves safety, dignity, and a path toward independence. Today, the Home for Hope Campaign continues that vision by establishing a permanent home to anchor these services for generations to come. Martha's Foundation is strengthened through trusted partnerships that expand our reach and ensure continuity of care for Oklahoma families. By empowering communities, we connect women to essential resources. For instance, the Oklahoma Pregnancy Care Network (OPCN) links women with free, life-affirming services such as counseling, education, adoption information, and material assistance in a non-judgmental setting. The George Kaiser Family Foundation has provided operational grants to support our expansion and family-centered care initiatives. The Zarrow Family Foundation generously donated a van to assist mothers in accessing school, healthcare, and employment opportunities. Additionally, the Allstate Foundation supports trauma-informed and life skills training for our staff. We are grateful to Tulsa Hill Church of the Nazarene for providing our original family home and ongoing pastoral partnership. Lastly, Mary Martha Outreach plays a vital role in distributing food, baby supplies, and clothing for residents and families in crisis. Each of these partnerships fortifies our mission, and we encourage you to contact us to learn more about how we are building a more connected, compassionate community.
At Martha's Foundation, we offer residential housing that provides safe, family-style living for up to four mothers and their babies. Our parenting and life skills training includes essential cooking, budgeting, and nutrition classes designed to empower communities. We also provide education and employment support through coordination with Tulsa Public Schools and various trade programs. Additionally, our case management and counseling services deliver emotional, mental, and spiritual support tailored to each resident's needs. With a focus on faith and family restoration, we organize prayer circles, mentorship, and community worship. Our ultimate goal is to help every resident complete high school, build stability, and create a healthy home for her child.
